BEWARE.I have ordered this item on 28 DEC and received an email today saying that the product is out of stock and they could not give me a concrete delivery date (My original delivery date was between 6-11 Jan 2010)I got a rude " DON'T KNOW " from the company's customer service for an answer to my order status.I am very surprised to see the availability 'IN STOCK' for this product. Please be careful and confirm the availability if you can before you actually place the order.I am giving the seller a terrible rating on this order.
When this item says it is cordless, it means it. Can be used anywhere in the house.Cons: To call someone you have to push on numbered buttons. By pushing the "speakerphone" button one can simply set the phone down in the kitchen and continue having a conversation while working.
Several years ago I bought a 25 foot coiled phone cord which allowed me to walk all over the kitchen when my children and grandchildren called. Through the miracle of science I can take this phone anywhere in my house and still talk on the phone. After living with a corded phone for 89 years I finally gave in to this new technological craze, and I don't ever plan to go back.
And no more crick in the neck.It gets better though. With the invention of the Softalk, I could even use both hands while talking. This phone has a feature that they call "speakerphone" which is like the coiled phone cord and Softalk combined into one.
Even the garage.Pros: Doesn't have to be hung on the wall. I wish they had a rotary dial feature.
The speaker phone really comes in handy as well as the intercom. The service was great from Amazon and the V-Tech DS6121 system is great. It's the third V-Tech I have purchased. The tone quality is the best I have heard. I recommend Amazon and V-Tech.
I was having difficulty with this phone on the day I bought it. I get all my mail in my post office box. When I put in my street address, another message came up saying my delivery address didn't match my billing address. My question had nothing to do with the charge. Today while reviewing my online accounts, I noticed my visa was charged for the batteries. After only a few months (5-6) the battery would go dead after a 15 minute conversation or after sitting out unused a few hours. I called tech support and they wouldn't even talk to me until I had had the phone for two days because they said it had to charge 24 hours. When I tried to get the batteries delivered to my po box, a message came up saying they didn't deliver to po boxes.
We just stopped using it except for the answering machine. Yesterday I decided to try some new batteries. So I couldn't place the order. This phone and this company are to be avoided.
Generally, it is a good product. Voice is clear, occasionally voice will disappear for a brief time.
